Find your people in Calgary
Roni is Jewish and speaks Russian and Ukrainian. He wrote these guides for the families he meets every week: the ones who want to know where the synagogue is, where to buy proper rye bread, and which neighbourhoods feel like home.

Jewish Calgary
About 8,500 people, five synagogues, two day schools, the Paperny Family JCC and Jewish Family Service, concentrated in the southwest around the community campus on 90 Avenue SW. Plus Calgary’s Israeli and Hebrew-speaking community.

Ukrainian Calgary

How Roni uses these guides
When a family tells Roni they want to walk to shul, or they need a Saturday Ukrainian school, or they want a Russian-speaking dentist within ten minutes, he does not guess. He maps the anchors (the synagogue, the church, the school, the deli), draws a circle around them, and searches inside it. These pages are that map, written down.
Everything here was checked against public sources in October 2026. Institutions move and schedules change; please confirm details with each organisation before you visit, and tell Roni if something has changed.
Want a home near your community?
Tell Roni which anchors matter and he will search around them.
